Update [10 AM]: I’m now booked to leave tomorrow morning, and come back Sunday evening. Barring any further problems I’ll still have the same amount of time in Chicago, and it’s still my birthday, so I’m optimistic! Let’s just hope the snow in Chicago lets up! Thanks for all the birthday wishes!
Don’t know when I’ll be back again. Actually, I do, but I’m just hoping that the song gets stuck in your head like it has been in mine for the past few hours. This is what I get for thinking too hard about post titles.
By the time you read this, I’ll be on a plane to Chicago, ready for a weekend of relaxation, music and knitting. And completely ignoring the fact that my professor just posted a 15 problem homework assignment due Thursday.
And it’s my birthday! Happy Birthday to Me! To celebrate the special day, I’m going to have a contest. The winner will receive a skein of Snow Angels in my 1500 MHz Merino Yarn. I absolutely love this yarn, and the colorway is awesome too. The contest is pretty simple. Guess my age! That’s it, no gimmicks or tricks, just a simple guess. There are previous posts on the blog that would shed light on my approximate age, but I don’t recall ever posting the specific number. If there’s more than one correct guess (which I’m sure there will be), I’ll use a fancy random number generator (close eyes and point) to pick the winner. I’m going to leave the guessing open until Sunday, when I return.
Speaking of leaving, I’m taking a somewhat obscene amount of yarn and knitted goods with me. I have 3 scarves (2 are gifts for Linford and Karin from Over the Rhine), a hat, some fuzzy feet (for those cold hotel floors)…and that’s just the finished objects! Otherwise I have lots of unknitted yarn that’s accompanying me, including a skein of the Snow Angels, since I just have to give one to the band that inspired the colors.
suitcase full of yarn
I wonder what the TSA screeners will think…I mean, I’m sure they’re prepared for when the Yarn Harlot rolls through town with 9 suitcases of yarn, but they probably don’t see many yarn toting men. I just hope I’m not sitting next to someone too inquisitive on the plane. ;)
Oh yeah, and I found out that I’m staying one block away from Loopy Yarns, how cool is that?
