The incoherent ramblings of a knitting, yarn dyeing grad student, who also happens to be a guy. You got a problem with that?

gasp
You are made of awesome!
Sadly, I do not own my home, and therefore cannot emulate your flair with the drill (though I own two) drat that security deposit... - my version uses multiple of those cheezy clear plastic 3-drawer storage "units" from the hardware store. Sadly, owning a cat (or sometimes, being owned by one) means I must keep curious little hooked paws out of my yarn stash.

I'll have to stop by your blog more often and vicariously enjoy your separate workspace (as I effectively live in my art studio). Any chance you'll be posting pics of the garden too? (yep, I'm a gardener too - when it's not bloody raining and tornadoing. yes, tornadoes in new england. whaaa?)
best~

Things I am envious of:

1) your peg board of yarn
2) your dyeing shed
3) your fiddleheads

Fantastic job with all of 'em, you live in fiber heaven!

What a great little set up! (just be careful you know where the electrical wiring and pipes are if you go hog wild with your drill...)... When we moved in here, DH bought a humongous door for $5 at the state surplus sale, to make a huge lab/microscope table. Then he went out and bought a corded drill for $200 to build it. It still makes me laugh... though the drill WAS also used to build a retaining wall and for loads of other things, it's a 'power' power tool, ya know?

Definitely tell the neighbors what you're up to, lol!!
We just got rid of some neighbors who WERE running a meth lab, in a camper, and it sure made life interesting for a bit! (They didn't stay long).
Sounds like you're having a blast setting up, good for you!
Enjoy!
Marissa

Just a thought.... but if you call your yarn studio "shedquarters" when you tell your neighbors that you are not running a meth lab..... they are never gonna believe you! Also.... for just a second... pretend that it wouldnt be you it was happening to... and then think about how funny it would be for the police to show up and start asking questions only to be taken to the shedquarters to find that all that "meth" you are cooking is a drug of a different kind.... Yarn! HAHA! So funny!
