"Man I can do this! I know this stuff and the final is open book, open notes, I’ll be fine! Really, no sweat. I can’t believe I ever worried over this thing…it’ll all be over in no time. Plus I have my calculator, my notes and all my homework solutions, how hard can it really be?"
(5 minutes later)
"OMG, who am I kidding?! This test is going to be freaking hard! Our professor is out to slaughter us just like she did on the midterm. That one was open book, open notes too and the class average was less than 50%! And she said that if we don’t make improvements on the final that our grades won’t be so hot! Oh jeez, oh jeez! Less than 2 hours until my doom!"
(5 minutes later) → start over at stage 1
I think it’s time to start praying that my professor is feeling merciful today!

Um, good luck!!! :)
If you could see my face right now, it would be the face of “Yep,” [with effusive nodding] “I know how you feel.” Crapademia. Hope you have a nice long break after that final is over.
I’m sure you’ll do just fine….but good luck anyway!
Good luck Adam! :)
Good luck Adam! Just think, a nice cool guiness awaits you.
Hope it went well! I’m praying my prof will be merciful tomorrow, and I’ve definitely been on the roller coaster of the 2 phases all week. Hope you get a nice break soon!
yeah, open book tests? always worse than regular tests. always.
How’d it go?
Your face in those pictures reminds me of TWo left needles when she was waiitng ofr th baby to come. Thanks for the smiles. Almost makes me miss school
you will do fine… good luck with your adventures
Dude, Hang in there!!! It is almost over, and then you can shave that handsome but somewhat hairy face of yours…You can do it, You can do it, You can do it! We are praying for you!
Best wishes for a massive good luck!!! (but I’m not entirely sure you are going to need it, I have all the confidence in you).
You’ll do fine, Adam. I have faith in you.
Good luck good luck! Those open book exams are always annoying, but I’m sure you’ll do fine! It’s all in the preparation, and you seem to be doing just that.
Good luck! I once had a math professor who would consider an exam a failure if anyone did well on it. I’d get a test back with a 32 on it and scratch my head, wondering where it fell on his magical bell curve (and that wound up being one of the higher scores!). Definitely treat yourself to a nice cold beer or some shiny yarn when you’re through.
How funny, I’m the prof on the other end of your equation, cursing the lazy grad students! (HEHEHE)…
that sounds familiar… Good luck! :)
I think those open book tests are harder! They aren’t looking for you to spit back info, that’s for sure. Have you tried sleeping on the book? I did that w/ organic chem (and got an A!). Good luck!
O M G… I so totally know those feelings!! I hope that all your test go (or have gone) well..
