Moving Frenzy 10 Jun 06

It’s been a while since I’ve updated the site now, and I’m sure everyone thought I was off in la-la land somewhere. But things have been so crazy this past week, as I’ve been working, moving, cleaning and tons of other stuff. We were supposed to move into the new house at the beginning of the week, but the landlady was replacing the carpet first. Long story short…the carpet guys didn’t come until yesterday, so it was a lot of waiting around, wanting to move in, but not being able to. My parents have helped me a lot, with cleaning and painting and all that…I don’t think I could have done it all without them.

Anyway, last night the carpet was finished and we finally got to start putting furniture in its place. Mom and Dad came down, and brought Daisy and Emma with them. See, the conundrum I’m facing is that I don’t want Emma to be at home all day by herself while I’m at work, and I’ve been thinking about getting a puppy, but it has to be the right one, and I haven’t come across one yet. So the verdict that was reached was that Daisy would come down and live with me for a bit, to help Emma get adjusted to the new house, since Emma and Daisy are very good pals.

So problem #1 solved. Now for problem #2…the gianormous pond in the backyard. Seriously, small children could drown in this pond. And Emma and Daisy were very intrigued by the fish in the pond, so much so that I was afraid to leave them alone in the backyard, lest they fall in. So in the normal Church family fashion, we went to Lowe’s at 9pm, bought some materials and proceeded to fence in the pond, at night. I’m sure the neighbors already think I’m crazy, if the first thing they hear before going to bed is posts being hammered into the ground.

Anyway, we got the fence up, and alleviated our fears about the dogs drowning. So that was good, but then we had a sudden dog emergency. I’ll continue this in the next post, since it could be a bit long-winded.
