emma's blanket - 2/3 done!

May I present, the newest student intern at Sandia National Labs! The interview went fantastic, and I got a call back by dinner time with an official offer! I couldn’t believe that things are moving so quickly, but I’m thrilled to actually have a confirmed job for after graduation, and not have to worry about things in the job search department anymore. I really can’t believe I got a job at Sandia too, it’s such a great place to work, I’m thrilled. And the group I’ll be working with does some really cool work in my field, so it’s a really great deal all in all. Now begins the long process of obtaining a security clearance, that should be a lotta fun ;)

As far as knitting goes, I finally finished the 2nd strip of Emma’s blanket, just one more to go! It’s really starting to shape up, and the squares on both the strips match up pretty evenly. People think I’m a bit crazy that I spoil my dog so much by making her a blanket, but it’s more for me than her, and it’s given me a lot of good experience in working color areas. Hopefully in a few more days I’ll finish the final strip and then all that’s left is to sew them together and add the edging, I can’t wait!
