Death on a Cracker 25 Jan 06

Today I was officially what my good friend refers to as the “death on a cracker” phase, as I woke up to find my throat was really sore and that my lymphnodes were enormous. I ended up sleeping most of the day and missing my classes, thanks to a kind soul who offered to take notes for me. I’m pretty much OD’ed on zinc cough drops, tylenol cold and gatorade, so I feel a lot better now.

In other news, I have an informal job interview tomorrow, and I’m totally psyched! For those of you who don’t know, I’m a senior at New Mexico Tech, in Socorro, NM, and I will be graduating with my B.S. in Electrical Engineering this May. So I’ve been trying to find a job, and my Uncle who works at Sandia Labs recommended me to hook me up with the director of the Radar and Communications Systems department, who called today to see if I wanted to go to lunch with him tomorrow to discuss a position :-D I was super-excited because this is a position that might pay for me to go to grad school sometime in the future, and it’s at Sandia, which is a good place to get into if you’re an engineer. So despite the sickness it was a pretty good day, all in all :) Now I’m going to see if I can settle down for a bit and watch some TV and get my knit on!

Also, thanks to all those in the blogosphere who have been so great to me through visiting and commenting on my humble little blog. I really appreciate that everyone has welcomed me into the community! Thanks to Meg for the shout-out, I’ll try to hit up Abq Knit Night sometime, but not before I hit up Abq SnB, since Scout has invited me quite a few times now ;)

FIrst of all, watch out for Strep. It’s totally going around.

Second of all, good luck! I bet you’ll kick all kinds of butt. But you should have gone to SLEEP!

Hello from Escondida! Good luck on the job interview. If offered whole fruit for dessert, be sure to cut it up and eat it with a fork!
